Character Header Stats - What To Include - GingerJondi - 01-18-2018

As you start writing a new character, you may wonder what stats to include in your character header and what stats not to include. After all, when you look at your character sheet, it looks like a scantron full of a lot of dots. You may be tempted to show off some of those lofty achievements. So here's a guide of the things that are REQUIRED and the things that are suggested.

REQUIRED stats to be included in your character header:

For Werewolves:

You MUST INCLUDE YOUR PRIMAL URGE. This is a stat that other wolves would be aware of, they would react to your character in response to it and it needs to be in your header.

You MUST INCLUDE YOUR RENOWN. While other wolves may now be able to see your character's renown in every scene, remember that Renown is your  Werewolf reputation. There will be plenty of scenes where your wolf's Renown will be needed and it is much easier to have it already in your character header than for players to have to ask for it. Not to mention, the spirits have sung the songs of your deeds. Your reputation precedes you. In some cases, your Renown may mean other wolves have heard of you.

For Vampires:

You MUST INCLUDE YOUR BLOOD POTENCY. Your blood potency is something other Kindred will react to as they meet you, it will affect how they interact with you, how they respond to you...especially on a first meeting.

For Werewolves & Vampires:

You MUST INCLUDE ANY ACTIVE POWERS. This means you will need to add any active Gifts of Disciplines your are using during the current scene. For example, if your Vampire is currently using Majesty 1 (Awe) that means it affects how the other players and NPC's in the vicinity of the character will behave. This needs to be notated in your Character Header. The same applies to active Werewolf Gifts.

For All Types of Characters:

You MUST INCLUDE STATUS AND SIMILAR MERITS. What are similar Merits? Any Merit that conveys how others should react to your character? Should they show this person respect? Will they be impressed by their mere presence? Can this person charm their way into just about anyplace? Are they ugly as shit? Are they smaller than average? Are they fucking huge? Are they gorgeous? Are they recognizable? Are they well-known?

WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO INCLUDE IN YOUR HEADER?

You need to include any stats that affect the other characters around you...such as how they would react to you, how they should perceive you, how well they should believe what you say or respond to your advances. Do you need to put your entire character sheet in the header? No. Absolutely not. But a high presence should be listed, or high manipulation. If a Wolfblood has a Tell, like Exciting, that effect how others would react to her, it should be listed.

If you are unsure? Just ask us. We are happy to answer your questions and help you figure out what you should include and when.

Code:
[chr]image.jpeg|#hex| Name | Important Stats[/chr]

For Example, Jett's actual header code looks like this:
Code:
[chr]http://forum.gravenlore.com/gallery/3_12_01_18_8_22_24.jpeg|#4e71aa| Jett "Boruta" Martin| PU 4 | Inspiring | Status Whyos Alpha | Intelligence 4 | Composure 3 | Purity 2 | Cunning 1 | Glory 1 | Wisdom 1 | Honor 1 [/chr]

And is pretty like this:

Jett "Boruta" Martin

PU 4 | Inspiring | Status Whyos Alpha | Intelligence 4 | Composure 3 | Purity 2 | Cunning 1 | Glory 1 | Wisdom 1 | Honor 1

Want to color code your speakers?

Code:
[color=#hex]text[/color]

So I can leave text with quotes, "Hera, you'd better leave me some cookies."
"You don't need anymore cookies..." Heather answered with a grin.

Or
